I finished all the blocks for DD#3's wedding quilt today. There are nine different blocks and here are the piles of each.
I have no place in the house large enough to spread out all the blocks to show you the pattern.
Here is one quarter of the design. If you can just imagine three more quarters, you'll get an idea of what it will look like.
Here are the fat quarters my secret sister sent me. Thank you so much! They are valuable additions to my stash!
I am still working on snail trail blocks for the Mardi Gras quilt. It got me thinking about making a completely scrappy snail trail quilt, only dividing by darks and lights. It's definitely becoming a WHIMM, because the more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I have a feeling I will need several wedding quilts in the near future, and if I make a couple of scrappy ones, if one sneaks up on me, it will have so many colors in it, that it will match anything. Yup! I'm liking this idea :)

Hey Melodie-- where are you going to lay this out to quilt it? Or do you have a long arm... I can't remember. Looks good so far!
Bonnie, I have a short arm on a frame. My frame supposedly can handle a 90" quilt, but I don't really feel comfortable doing much more than an 80" on it. I haven't decided exactly how to do the borders, though I do have a great border fabric for it. If I only add 6" borders it will be 84" square and I might try it on my frame. If I decide on multiple borders, I might send it out for quilting.
melodie,
i got karen combs book and i LOVE it! i think it was you that suggested my getting it--your quilt that you have done is fantastic. i just plotted out my tattoo on my rt. foot and am going to do it as a sew a long on my blog--there are 21 different blocks in it and it is 16x16.....
